Default Gone over agree'd limited mileage

what will happen, will they just charge me for the extra miles or what? ive done 1400 over what i said i would. Bit stupid really, nobody knows EXACTLY what they will do, it differs from year to year.

People say get limited milage, it brings down the cost loads, yeah it does UNTIL the renewal, and then you have to ring them to tell them you've exceeded it then theres the ball ache of having to ring them, fill the documents in etc

I've always wondered how they enforce it tbh. I always do a limited mileage policy on the FRS but in the course of a year me mate Dave drives it nealry as much as I do, surely the mileage is what the policy holder does rather than the car?

just knock off the excess mileage when it comes to renewal and then not use it as much next year so it equals out over the 2 years.

Its stupid, when they sent the papers through my door it was AFTER the renewal date, so i got a form saying "on the 25 my mileage read........." on the 28th of last feb, so now ive got to guess what it was 3 days ago? wtf, something is missing with the way they do it.

I guess they dont give a shit if you accidentally give an incorrect reading because it gives them a way out should you claim

id cough personally, you will have to pay an extra ammount, but its worth it in the end.

insurance companies will do EVERYTHING in their power to get out of paying out!

my mate was driving his girlfriends car in the snow a while back, span it and binned it thus writing it off.

it was ok tho, as she had put him on her insurance.... but he didnt mention the fact he had been banned from driving a few years ago so she didnt know when asked if he had any convictions.... the insurance company did NOT pay out when they checked his history and found out!

luckily it was only a low value car, and he did not hit anyone else. otherwise he would have been fucked.

I have never had to inform an insurance company of the mileage done every year on a limited milage policy, and even if i did, i'd just not tell them and make up for it the next time around.

As said already take the milage reading from last years MOT and then take it from this years MOT or the milage your clocks show and there is the proof you exceeded your milage allowance. If you crash they wont pay up to fix your car or another so you will have to foot the bill. Ring them and inform them.

Looks like they have accidently gave you a way out!!!!!

The 1400 miles you are over, could have been done in those 3 days.
(a long trip way up north of Scotland and back for a weekend break perhaps, and a bit of running about nod nod wink wink. Wont be far away)
