Bosch or Valeo flat aero ones.

Best by a mile compared to old-style wipers.

Mine's got the aeros as standard, and i put some of the retro fit ones on my old car, to be honest they all clear the screen just the same as the others. Don't see any benefit to them. Unless you can get the aerotwin's cheap, I wouldn't bother and get some original ones.

I have been told by loads that have used the flat ones they worked way better than the normal type ones, I'm trying the flats next time to see if the really are as good as people telling me.

Mk1.5 Focus.

I always used to buy the Bosch wipers from Halfords (Ł18), but I've since converted to the flat blade/Aerofoil style like on the more modern MK2/3 Focus and to be honest, what a massive improvement over the normal style! and I got them off ebay for Ł6.50!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Focus-Mk-...item2a0a8e4dc4

Fantastic!

They work no better. I really don't see how the old style ones would work any less. If they are in good condition then they will clear the screen properly, just the same as a flat blade will.

Can't remember the name of the 'syndrome' now, but i think it's peoples view of, if they are more expensive and look better, then they must work better, and they dont.

the misses had ford standard jobbies on her fez st and they were pants, was like they were from the 80's.

Got some retro fit bosch flat areo ones and they are 100% better, well worth the extra pennies.

cant be the case all the time I was paying Ł18 for a set of old style and paid Ł6.50 for new style.

paid roughly a third less for better blades, I feel that they are better because IMO:

They wipe more smoothly, have lasted longer and just clear the screen better every wipe than the old style ones.

Just my opinion after using new style aerofoill ones for approx 8 months

I've had the aerotwin ones now for about 4 years, retro fit on my old cars and standard fit on my latest one. And when I drive the wife's car that has the old style blade, there is absolutely no difference. If the blade is in good condition, then it will wipe the window perfectly.

as said old blades and a dirty screen with oil/grime on the blade and it will struggle

Aeroblades lift in the middle at 130mph in the rain too which is fucking iffy as thats the part of the screen you need,,,,, i got aeros on my cars cause i get them free or cheaper but will be fitting standard bosch blades back on the scooby and change them every 3 months

Euro Car Parts.

There may be cheaper places, but with free delivery and the 15% discount I get through a club membership, they were the cheapest and most convenient for me.

bosh on a F 350, my dad has two winters on his already and they are still good and he plows snow with the truck on a regular basis! I have tried rainex lattitude and I hated them, their shape distorted right away and they left streaks.

The best ones I can remember using were Champion Silicone, about Ł25 a pair, but awsome, just haven't seen them about in years.
Well nothing ventured nothing gained, I will give the flatties a go as need a pair on the astra.
Thanks for all the info/opinions on here from eveyone, it's very much appreciated.

I defo don't have that syndrome, as I use Hankook Ventus Evo V12 tyres, rather than the nearly double the price alternatives with the big name, as I think they are VASTLY better by a mile, having tried all the big names, these are the only tyres I have bought before I had the wheels they were going on, I've even bought spare tyres just in case they are run out again at camskill.

Well I tried the flat wiper, or aero wiper as people call it.
I think they are a stunning improvement over the old ones, they are silent, sweep without missing a drop of water on the screen, and even silent when wiping dry screens(I tried).
I've been up to 70 and they are imo a huge improvement, over the std type, I think the key is even pressure, but I won't be going to the traditional type anytime soon.

What were your old ones doing then? Swerving round a few drops every now and then?

At 60+ they were lifting at the ends, and "missing" the water on the screen, esp the nearside one, the new ones are just so much smoother and quieter.
My previous ones were bosch, about 10 months old.
