Default Transit abs pump

I have a 2005 transit that has failed the mot on the abs pump.

What I would like to know has anyone had the same and fitted a second hand pump? If so did it work and how hard was it?

Thanks Matt

probably the easiest to do on the ford range in recent years, remove fusebox and its just there!

biggest prob is bleeding the brakes afterwards.

unsure on a second hand one, get yours reconditioned?

Whats it actually failed on? is it leaking?

Thinking about it I did refill the brake fluid a coupe of weeks ago. It was empty has not gone down since but I'm only doing 15 mile round trip to work the last couple of weeks.

The garage where it failed the mot said they would have to replace the belt and reprogram the pump?

I can see there is no belt(which makes me wonder if they looked very hard) but didn't know about the reprograming.

the fault code that came up was c1095.

where could I get it reconditioned?

Thats better than the 2k the garage wants to change it.

I cant find anywhere that recon them so a second hand one will do for the time being

fuck me is that a ford dealer?

I don't know an exact price but i'd say that over-priced in a big way, phone around some local ford dealers.

That was 1500+vat for the pump from ford then fitting and he said it had to be programed?
he also said 35 for a belt ?

I looked at it after I got home I must admit I have not really looked at it before there is no belt near it. Looks easy enough to change, bleeding it could be a pain.

Does it need to be programmed ?

i dont think theirs a belt ,regarding bleeding is it not just a mater of disconnecting the pump and bleed as normal .i have a 06 broke at the minute i will have a look tomorow and see what the story is with the pump
