Default 1.6 spi cvh to twin 40's?

hi there, this is my first post so be gentle haha,i have started a locost kit car project and have fitted a 1.6 spi cvh from a donor sierra,i have access to weber twin forties but im unsure what i need to get them up and running, the spi cvh has a coil pack so i am thinking i need to use a dissy setup? i can get another head no probs.i dont want to fit the loom from the sierra and dont know how little wiring i can get away with running the carbs.any input would be superb as i have no background on using carbs. thanks bryan

As you've sussed, you need a dizzy so that you have a advance retard curve for the ignition, could go with ecu to control this, but if doing that would be suicide not to go whole hog and efi it.
With a dizzy just need a coil, basic wiring, some coils will need a external amp, some won't.
To get the best it will need a different curve to the std one in the dizzy, can diy it if wanting to and get it very close and useable, if not rolling road time is best, although contact aldon automotive as they may have a close curve.
As for the 40's, they will need re/jetting to suit the engine, then a few bits of pipe, throttle linkage, inlet to suit, air filters, and pump, the efi pump will be far too high a pressure, so easiest way is just buy a after market lecky pump to suit carbs, mount under/next to the tank, you can use the efi return line as the feed line to the pump, and block off the original feed line.
Using a fuel pressure regulator you won't need a return line.
I would if I were you do some costing up first, 40's can have a thirst problem, it may well be possible engine spec dependant to get 90% of the power with 200% better drive ability using a single or smaller carbs.

hi there thanks for the input, the sierra was a 1.6i lx. I have an efi manifold lying from a feista rs turbo but no ecu,i can get hold of a fiesta xr2i ecu if it is easy to convert it to efi?this may be a better option if the power isnt that different and the plan down the line is to fit a fiesta rs turbo motor, thats why i used the cvh sierra as a template.thanks again bryan
