Default 18x9 on frs (NOW FITTED)

Well after seeing the german frs with the 18x9 pro race 1.2s i decided to get a set made off a lad off rsoc forum (his dad works for td)

I went for the exact same sixe as the german car with 18x9 and et35 picked the wheels up yesterday so had a trial fit today without tyres.

wheels

on the car

now the problem i feel like crying (real tears)

front which is the problem

rear

After looking back at the pics of the german car he only runs standard brakes, so all i can think is its the alloys bells on mine which sticks the fronts out?

any ideas please

how thick are the alloy bells?

they might be thick to give you clearance for the brakes.

you may have to get new bells and brackets made.

yeah but its all to do with the camber on the beam etc.... you might find once its on the deck the front camber angle may bring the fronts in slightly...? i know when i jack my saph up the back wheels come right out...

Just measure how much you can go in before you hit the shocker,if you have clearance then get them machined down a little

Nightmare mate could you get the front arches modified so that they will cover the wheels. It might be a dear option though.

Tbh that top photo it looks like it's sitting out a good 20mm.out of interest, have you tried some of the other wheels on it just incase there's a difference?the car looks great with them on though.
You could extend the arches if that's your only option left, although that would be the most expensive route I'd guess, would look exceptional though!!!

Pity you hadn't got hold of another wheel in the same size/offset to trial fit before ordering (not having a pop lol) or maybe try one on someone's car with the standard brakes??.....i love the look of that german focus on the 9" rims but no one seemed to have actually fitted them over on the rsoc so being the first is a gamble eh
Do you think you could possibly return them and see if they can change the offset perhaps??
Do you think the fronts would fit with a different offset or are they just too wide?

also when you measure the width of the rim is it the inner where the tyre sits that needs to measure 9"

The bells should be the same thickness as the originals so as to keep the proper wheel offset.

Problem lies with the wheels, not the brakes

Christ mate that's a mile out, but shouldn't think the bell is any thicker because it would still need to sit flush on the hub and you deffo would have noticed if the studs were shorter after fitting the brake setup.

Are you sure that's the correct ET? When I took that pic of the Focus in Holland, I didn't think to ask what the offset was, simply if it had coilovers on.

But I found out later that these are deffo ET35 all round, with 245/35/18 tyres and Bilstein coilovers with a 60mm drop. Also spacers fitted to the rear...

would be awesome to get some new wings flared out a bit

shoudl be no hassle getting 20mm taken from the mounting face, ideal now the tyres is off to measure clearance to see if it'll go

or 2 slightly thinner wheels need to be put on order, keep the wider rears tho

is there anyway to check the offset is correct? i know all the wheels have the size and offset stamped on, surely if its the offset the rears would be sticking out also.

dunno what to do probs best off trying to sell them on.

Might sound daft but have you tried the one on the rear on the front, incase one of the wheels is the wrong offset.

Wouldn't have the same effect IMO, wouldn't be too bad if it had standard arches. But having both considerably wider, they need to be equal.

When you say you've calculated your ET did you use this?

You need to know A and B dimensions to determain your ET.
