i wound the mk1 up to 110mph other day on the m18 i think it was and can say its more scary than 180 in the rx7.
the p100 runs out of puff about 145 on the clock, down hill it had 150ish :') so given ford speedo accuracy probably about 105? ;- lol

i think going fast in a straight line is fairly easy i remember when i 1st passed my driving test and really wonted to go past 100mph (i had a pug 306 deisel ) so that never happened but i got a mk4 fiesta 1.25 and that done 110 then fort it was like going 70 now i find taking corners and bends better sometime i take corners in my saph its only a twincam but i think bloody hell that was quick through there but with rwd you can see whats coming when ya come to a corner and sometime i do crap my pants just coz i know where i would be going if all goes wrong

the sierra's always seem very quick relative to their power.
though that said, some of the new cars seem very fast considering their weight and power, though im not sure if this is because other cars figures are abit.... optimistic or what?
the sierra is meant to be very aero dynamic! maybe thats why

Escort RS Turbo - 149.7mph recorded on some posh timing gear. Speedo needle had fucked off the clock and was coming round to do another lap of the dial
Audi - 155mph dial speed so lop 10% off for inaccuracy say 140ish
And my old Audi A4 Avant 1.6

Around 160-something as a passenger in the old C&B RS Turbo a long while back. Probably in the 150s in a couple of Cossies.
Never been that quick in any of my Fords, as I'm not that fussed by top speed really. Think I took my old 850 T-5 up into the 120s on the clocks, racing an E46 M3
Happy to sit at 70 really though. Acceleration and hooning about down country lanes is far more fun than top speed, and you can have plenty of fun without breaking the limit
