I have just got a laptop and im trying to put my ipod on it etc. However when im trying to use my ipod as a HD for my music to pay of, it says i need to reformatt it to make it ok with this machine. Does that mean u can only use the ipod with one computer at a time

an ipod will be locked to one iTunes library

to run it on a second machien do this :

install i tunes connect ipod

click no when it tells you its connected to another pc do you want to formate etc.

then in itunes on the left side right click ipod and then options.

what you want to do is select "manually manage my songs" or something like that

it will then let you see all the music on your ipod

Sweet thats sorted nice one craig, but when you look at your tunes via the portable bit in musicmatch it doesnt list them very well, ie all jumbled up

And know i got my ipod with my laptop, it doesnt seem to be charging while its connected etc any idea why?

it will only charge via firewire if the firewire port on the laptop is a big 6 pin one (as big as usb port)

if its a small 4 pin firewire port (W sort of shape) it will not charge just transfer data

there usually the smaller type on laptops

musicmatch is wank y do you use it

Use music match as thats what came with the CD for my ipod when i had it Where can i get itunes from? and will it trasfer all my music over as i dont want to lose that

Ah yeah i have got the little firewire on my laptop, doh thats why!

Hmmm just d/led it now and seems a bit funny itunes as you cant just click a loads of songs and make them play in a list like music match. U have to go through the hassel of creating playlists etc. Call me lasy but thats crap or am i missing somthing?
