Default Converting 4x4 saph to 2wd

What needs to be done/changed to do it properly? having never owned or worked on a 4x4 one i have no idea what the score is with them.
A Rough costing would also be great.

Typically a saph has come up for sale and its the right condition right colour right spec right price but wrong wheel drive

2 ways to do it, first way change the gearbox, rear prop, remove front diff and front shafts but leave outer cv joints in place to hold the wheel bearings together.
Other way is to fit a 2wd sump, front hubs and shocks callipers, disks etc

Are the rear diff and shafts the same as 2wd ones or are they different due to the power being distributed differently on 4wd?

rear diff and shafts are the same, as 4x4 is essentially RWD any way with a viscous drive to the front

you'd also need to change the ABS ECU and either make changes to the ABS loom or change it for a 2wd item

You'll need another gearbox cradle to fit the 2wd box which you can get from any ford dealer.

The finis code is 6177696.

From memory, mine only cost me about 17 odd quid so not dear.

Beats farting about adapting stuff too as it's a direct fit!!

Yes mate , that's the one. Would be perfect with 400brake and rwd
Trying to juggle what 2wd parts will cost and what I can get from selling the 4x4 bits.
