hairdrier, heat up the badge and use your fingers to pull them off, then back to the hair drier to warm up the foam and rub your finger over it, should come straight off..
May be left with a shadow in the paint but some cutting paste will clear that away!!

simples

as above, heating it up will soften the glue, some say a credit card down it but you could mark the paint.

Babywipes do a good job of removing the gluey residue believe it or not, ge tthe excess off, wipe over a bit with the baby wipe, leave for a few minutes then rub it away with the wipe.

Then give it a polish up.

heat up as said but use string behind it and pul the string through the backing taking the badge off everyother way will mark the paint as the paint is soft from heating up :O) tar and glue remover or a sim based product to take the glue off then a good polish to return the paintwork :O)

yep strong/cottom is good but make sure you keep your knuckles with the string/cottom wrapped round them away from the paint - i didn't and it left marks, admittedly they polished back out.

Thanks for the replies,

the other problm is the black handle on the boot with the key whole, its the only way to open the boot, is there any ways of taking this off but still being able to open the boot?

I use a thin guitar wire behind the badge and pull through the foam sticky pad, then white spirit or similar to get the foam bits off.
