Do silicone hoses stretch?

Default Do silicone hoses stretch?

Basically i want to stretch a standard ish size cossie inlet hose (70mm) over a 76mm ali hard pipe .

Anyone stretched a boost hose ?

Hot water will help, i have done it before but its hard work.

If they are decent ones NO...They have a webing in the middle of the layers that will not stretch

Its kinda not the same but on a fish pump/filter hose i did try hot water and could not stretch it atall but i used a flame from a plumers thingy and it worked wonders!

But if you do try this dont leave it on too long as it WILL melt it!

They will stretch slightly but it's not easy!! I've stretched SFS and Samco easily enough but the worst ones I've tried to stretch were Roose hoses. They took some effort.

Thats good to know , as i only use SFS hoses.

Surely that's bad to know as they're not meant to stretch, so the roose ones are the better hoses?

surley they must stretch to a degree , if they didnt they split , no?
