Lad i know has just bought a MK1 FRS, its got GAZ coilovers all round, he doesnt like them, and knows a guy with a standard ST170, he likes the way that rides, and the lad with the 170 said he would swap suspension with him (wouldnt you lol). so whats the difference between the standard frs struts/springs, and ST170, if any ?


personally ive told him to stick with the gaz coilovers and adjust them, but he's not having it.

doubt it. the RS has sachs racing dampers as standard.
dont recall the STs having them on, but could be wrong.
Edit. they would physically fit though i expect yeah.. no real differences there.

I've got a mate with a MK1 FRS who would be severely keen to do that deal mate, his FRS has got c52k miles on it from memory.

I would check the diameter of the stuts at the base where they drop into the hubs, got a feeling the RS has a larger diameter strut.

ive passed grants number on to rab, and vice versa mate, so they should be speaking soon, and sorting something out. rab isnt far from you, lives in ballingry i think its called, its in fife.
