Oil Cooler Size
i have a 44 row Mocal oil cooler. is it worth me fitting it to my 1.8 turbo S13?
its running about 300bhp, over the std 169bhp. its not revving past the standard 7,200rpm limit though.
i plan on doing a few track days this year, but the car is a road car.
from talking to other S13 owners, there is no doubt i need an oil cooler on track.
the problem is, a 44 row is very big. is it worth fitting one this big? if i use a thermostatic sandwhich plate, will it be fine.
also, will it put any more stress on the oil pump over what a normal sized, 19row -25row one would?
in all my tuning catalogues, they suggest much smaller oil coolers.
is this a stupid idea?

44 Row is FAR too big. You will get Pressure drop with a Cooler that size. As PON says, 19 Row is plenty. Especially on a 200SX, because you can place it infront of the Main Rad where it will have really good airflow to it.
A Thermostatic Sandwich plate is a good idea though.
