no pics but if i remember correctly euen did it in his 2wd saff ( ava tuned one)
a few years ago

cars been broke since

but cooler worked very well if i remeber

No pics from me but I remember a local lad welding two 4x4 coolers together and used on G***KOE.Worked well enough.

Thats a no then lol. Did you put the angles in the top and bottom to force the air flow?

That's basically it really, no special thought or planning, made the end caps from 100mm aluminium box section which i had access to at work.

Ive seen a few RS500 style intercoolers on the bay going cheap for about 150 quid.Will these be any good.

chip off hear welded 2 cosworth intercoolers togever and then made a tank around them so they worked as a charge cooler

Never managed to get it installed on the car! Its been collected dust ever since PMSL!!

in a word....no

the effectivness of an intercooler is down to the quality of the core, people use 4x4 coolers as the OE cores used by Ford were very good (were they behr??)

the cheap ebay jobbies will fit, but wont cool anywhere near as efficiently

they were good back then - intercooler core technology has moved on somewhat in the last 25 years.

ive got a 4wd cooler sat here that i took off my car yesterday, was gonna put it up for sale tonight, its got a bit of a ding in the top but still air tight.
let me know if its any use.

I would not do this, I've seen one of these home made coolers at the the welders after it had popped it's end caps............looked like it would damage your rad and anything else in close range. Might have been someone off here, was from a time attack saff.
