Default Restored XR3i opinions.

As above, what do you think of this?

It looks like a nice car but if i were restoring it i would have painted it in its original colour and i wouldn't have put the RS1600i front splitter on it i would have just rebuilt it to its original look.

Its not the colour or front spoiler that "spoil" it, it's the S2 90 spec seats and the door cards with the red outline. Exterior looks pretty decent tbh.

Looks great to be fair. I see nothing wrong with uprating and updating old cars, so long as they're not advertised as original.

As said, shell and dates dont add up, but how cool is it to see it on its proper wheels, which seem so 'right' for it now its become more of a classic

THAT is a fucking beaut! Rare turbo kit on it as well, that was developed for the escort turbo rallye challenge car, privateers could buy those kits from RS to get their escort up to spec to compete.

I too prefer the silver one,cool imo
Whilst on the subject of 3i's did anyone on here own or buy a mk3 orange one ? Iirc it was on ebay a couple of years ago and was in Blackpool.I was bidding on it for my mrs but missed it.I think it had a S1 kit and trim.

i like the blue one but the silver one has the edge for me would prefer original xr3 wheels on it though

For me the mix of xr3 and xr3i bits spoil it, esp the wrong wheels, I like the xr3 more myself in silver.
