I don't think back then anything ran 9's so it was quite a achievement !

Hopefully those days will return, lots of things have conspired against me using the car over the last couple of years. The 'Lambo idea' is my mates trying to get me to see sense and move on as they can see I don't use the car anymore. I still like it and its going nowhere (unless a fist full of money is offered) any time soon.

id say yes, driving up the 1/4 mile does become boring where as track action is much more thrilling which is what martins car is built for.

if he knows his car can do consistant 10 second passes why bother to keep doing it when he already knows he can?

seems pointless unless the car has changed spec and he wants to set a new time.

just my oppinion of course

Where's the "sense"??? Lambo costs all round are surely more than Ford costs, stop being a girl and ignore those silly friends of yours

I think we decided Ł65k would be the asking price if it were to be marketed.

Do you think anyone who has that sort of money would really care if it ran a 9 ?

Its got the power too but its a track based car and circuit drivers couldn't really give a monkeys how fast it runs up the 1/4 in.

Yep, somewhere, christ knows where I have the videos from that day.

There was a women driving a R32 GTR that got into the 10's, was a tuner car iirc but long before anyone had massive bodykits and sponsors all over them.

I vaguely remember Martin's old car competing it a round of Custom Car's street car series where it wiped some smiles off faces by running a 10.

Some cars were running 9s at that point, but still impressed a lot of people!

Would love to see the new one run a 10 or 9 side by side with Havey Gibbs' car, as that should be on line for very low 10s/9s this year.
