indicator not cancelling off?

Default indicator not cancelling off?

Hi,
just brought a mk5 1.3 fiesta for my first car.

when i indicate for a while it doesn't cancel off??

anybody know why? what should i do?

Most likely the self canceller is broken, this is a ring around the steering column, under the wheel that has a protrusion on it, that physically pushes the indicator foot back in, when you indicate a "foot" type bit pokes out this gets knocked back in as the wheel is straightened after the turn, the self canceller bit often breaks, easy job though and cheap, just beware to let airbag de energise for 10 mins if fitted before unplugging(after disconnecting battery).

does it do it when indicating for a while or just when indicating all the time? u should take off the steering column cowling and have a look and see how it works might just be worth replacin the combination switch. (not sure how it works on a fez)

Exactly as he said, I should think it's more likely the sprung pin that shoots out the stalk opposed to the steering wheel cam itself.
