This is the first GT35 I have seen go wrong but it has been on the engine for a few years and it has always run hard.

Took the air filter hose off and found very slight marks on the compressor housing where the blades had began to touch. The noise just got progressively worse. By the time I crawled back to Bristol it sounded like a cats chorus, properly fucked It had driven fine on the way to Marks in the morning, gave it some serious stick as well.

Oh well.....

Cheers,

Ade,

Sorry to hear that mate, but at least you were getting a new turbo anyway, just nice to sell the bits on to re-coup some money!

Just think of the smile you'll have after giving it some serious stick with the new turbo

Thats fair enough then, can't deny the power you get and I've probably just got caught up in the internet gossip about them being terribly unreliable.

Probably no worse than running a T34 for around 400hp I'd have thought?

Been on the car since October 2005, done at least 10,000 miles, gone from internal to external wastegate, changed after four years from open to twin scroll exhaust housing, had launch/anti-lag chucked at it and properly abused, I think it's done remarkably well under the circumstances

Cheers,

Ade.

Started it up yesterday to get it out of the garage to wash it, sounds like an air raid siren looking forward to it's reincarnation - should be 200 on it's next top speed run

norris built a gtx4294(so smaller one) powered evo lump for wallace performance.

Makes some interesting numbers with a little boost spike at the end at 3bar

going of that and compressor maps a gtx4202 would make roughly 160hp more at 3bar of boost so 1180bhp!!

ethanol is lovely stuff!!

Its the aim to have two MAD cars past 200mph on the same day it depends on shape of curve & fall off after peak Power in Ades case could be tight . Im sure the MAD crew can get the gearing correct to give him the best chance. COME ON ADE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was an EVO engine running 1.9bar & made 513bhp dont know any other details at this point. The boost was kept down until the customer fits a stronger box very soon.
