Gutted for you.
Quite common I believe. Hunt scrappy's/ ebay for an engine. I think I found one for £650 last time. You need the engine code. BKD comes to mind and I think this might be the common one - but check!
Just had a quick scout on ebay and they seem to be 1000 plus now

Thanks for the advice mate i did have a look on ebay earlier, theres a place in essex that supply and fit, but im always wary of places like these, would you say the block is scrap?the garage that towed it in and had a look said its partially seized which confused me?? looks like the mrs is gonna have to find some cash or buy a cheap runner til its done.
Thnaks for the advice.

I will check but I think we may have a decent BKD block in the workshop. If its any use to you send me a pm.
Most of the ebay ads seem to do 'fitting' for extra cost. I'd let your mrs budget for 12-1500 quid transplant done![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
The last engine I bought came from the midlands I went and picked it up. Search for '2.0tdi breaking' etc as sometimes I find these lumps can be had for less than the people who clearly know there worth.

Nice one ill drop you a pm mate, its for a touran will it still be same engine code? do you think anything will be able to salvage from the engine in it? im guessing the head will be knackered to, we are just gonna have to bite the bullet and pay out and get it done properly, how long would it take time wise if the engine was available?
cheers for the good advice.
