car smells like rotten egg?
just wondering, was revving my car lightly the other day and the fumes smelt a bit like gone off egg, any ideas what does this? fucked cat?
its a golf vr6 2.8.

it shoulod only do it when the engine's cold, the smell is sulphur that's emitted when the rich exhaust get's sorted through the cat
if you can smell it in the car then you've probably got a leak into the car from outside
or just close the windows

I remember my old mans RS2000 use to stink of rotten eggs even when it was spanking new.
