It also has custom written on the dash board??
Its T reg in orange with one owner no rust anywhere from what i could see looks brand new under bonnet and in the boot! Any idea on what its worth??

The Mk2 Mexico had a flat front style. People would fit the 2 litre pinto engine in place of the 1600 on a Mexico, then say it was a RS2000 !!
It is possiable to Id the letters in the chassis number , which will tell you where and when it was made and model.
The "Custom" sticker donates trim level. If it is a custom it will have full height door cards as well as "fishnet" style head rests on the front seats and a clock pod mounted in the left hand side of the dash panel, also a full length centre consol. In the boot they had a boot carpet that covered the spare wheel as well.
I have had quite a few MK2,s over the years. As for value, can start at 2k up to 10k!!!!!
Depends on the car. You need to check floor pans, inner A panels and chassis legs, also bottoms of rear screen pillars.
Hope this has been usefull, cheers

Hi, well all factory Mk2, Rs2000 cars had a nose cone with quad lights, sometimes if they where damaged in any way people would put them back to a "flat front" style.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
if its got no rust its worth it,
rust free examples are making crazy money these days,
i've got 1, but i wouldn't exactly call it rust free,
more patches than an old american quilt lol

Get it bought. That's a cracking deal. And you could order them like that from ford as not everyone liked the nosecone but it was quite rare

They used to call them Flat Front RS 2000 and a lot of the rally cars had no nosecone.
If its a genuine car and not rusty its a bargain, a one owner car that can be brought up to a good standard is worth a lot, and prices going up as hardly any good shells / interiors left.

just had a look round the car again and the only rust i can find is behind the back wheels where the mud collects ans a few bubbles along the bottom of both doors.
The interior isnt as tidy as i thought! everything is there its all just tired and the drivers seat bolster is worn out. The log book matches the car so im pretty sure its a real RS, im not buying it to sell on and make a quick buck i plan to keep it as a useable classic plus it will be an investment. i will puts some pics on when i see it next. cheers
