Default cosworth head sealing ring wrc??

has anyone ever tried the setup on a wrc subaru in a cosworth engine?
i am talking about the bronze ring with aluminum insert and o ring conversion?

yip thats the one. just wondered if anyone had tried this on a cossie or zetec turbo yet.
how thick are the bronze rings?

Thick as in how deep into the block? Hard to tell without looking at one, I think about 2mm from another picture I have. Other dimensions are easy enough to work out relative on the bore & block.

Not really sure why people do or don't use this sort of thing on YBs, probably to do with the cost/lifespan and also the suitability of the block & head to the work involved?

I also wouldn't discount the 'not invented here' aspect, everyone just carried on with the usual way of doing things rather than try the gasket-less option.
