Would you consider having the snip. I recently spoke to a guy who said he and his three brothers, and two cousins all had the snip. In their 30's/40's!

Apparently, their wifes also asked them if they'd get it done! And they agreeded.

So, guys would you consider having it done.

Ladies, would you ask your husband to get it done. If you were in the mind to do so?

I found it a bit strange (its not something I would ever consider doing) I can see the plus/minus points in doing so though!

Not sure why you think it's strange? I've got two kids, didn't want any more and had the snip last year at 34. No big deal - the idea of it is way worse than the reality.

Mine didn't swell, nor bruise. Was uncomfortable, but not particularly painful.

as men we expect women to pump themselves full of drugs just so we can have our end away.
once your comfortable and got all the kids you want its a no brainer, as said before , a very little discomfort in my experience. it was more embarrasing than painful.
as for women my wife had problems with our last and had to have a emergency c section at seven and a half months nearly killed the pair of them.
i think we get off quite lightly when you watch your mrs having one of them.
word of caution, be sure you do not want any more children reversals are not always successful

I had my second hernia op sometime ago now and damn that was painfull! My balls were blue and severly swollen and the hernia was in my groin. Sounds similar to what you jusr said but without having the snip.

I have spoken to my girlfriend about this a few times and tbh the thought does frighten me a bit But I have had problems when I was a teenager and maybe I shouldn't be frightend as that was bloody painfull and I was hospitalised for a week through it.

Also if I have it done, I don't have to keep pulling it out and making a mess everywhere lol

its not bad at all,and the little pain and discomfort is worth it as you have to think about your future and most important your partner,you cant expect a women as its been already said to keep taking the pill it does there body no good at all,its far easy once you are happy with your own family situation to have the snip.
to steralize a woman its a far far worse operation,in my opinion it makes good sense and show respect for your partner

I have one child and had the snip a couple of years ago now. I am only 37 now.
Can't stand needles so had it under a general rather than a local anaeshetic.
Had achy nuts for a while but nothing major.

i had the snip done about 3 years ago now, now 33, have 3 kids, and dont want any more. Would do it again if had to. Wasn`t to bad at the time, had it done friday afternoon, sat was walking round the shopping centre, was walking a tad funny mind. but not that bad.
Having problems now tho, which doc has said its down to the snip.

i had the snip five years ago, couple of month after my fourth child was born. i decided four kids was enough, was my choice. wor lass did agree, but it was me who suggested it.

Where they cut the tubes (i had mine cut not tied) in the last 3 months have had a few cysts (sp) been in more pain with them, then the snip itself. every time i get them, on the anti-biotics.

a lad i know did, but he had to go private. nice lad, but bit of a cunt. i mentioned when he was talking about it, that he may find it hard to have a long term relationship, unless he can find a girl who doesnt want kids. he said, cant see it being a problem. well that was eight years ago, and a three year, and four year, relationship later. he is currently 36 and single. although he has a decent job, own house, nice car, and is clubbing it every weekend, and taking a different tart home, so maybe, it actually, wasnt that bad of a decision

dont know about anyone else, but the only part i found really painfull, was the pulling out, and clamping, of the tube. must have only taken a couple of seconds, but was without doubt, the worst pain ive ever felt in my life. the rest of the procedure, wasnt that bad i didnt think

I had mine done a week after my second was born, I was 25.

But wasn't great, gained an internal infection and had a black bruise from my knee to my chest, bad times!

But would do it again tomorrow if I thought there was a chance I'd have more kids pmsl

i had the snip in febuary and it still gives me pain, my left nut aches nearly all the time and i have regretted it ever since, i know they say it can be a bit painfull for a while but 10 months.

feck that i thought about it when the ex left i'm a single dad now look after the wee one and she takes nowt too do with her. Ithought i'd never get that lucky again and the thought of not been able to see my child etc put me in mind of it but the doc said i had to wait 12 months before they'd do it on nhs. I'm glad tbh i just put a hat on lol

I had it done a few year back. They asked if wanted to be put to sleep , no way am i sleeping when me balls are being cut...

just over a year ago my wife fell pregnant and lost the baby,so pain both ways my tubes have re-attach and there is no way i am having the snip again.

Is there an age limit for this? just im 26 nearly 27 with 2 kids my mrs is 31 with 1 and we dont want anymore kids, Was considering it cos its only advisable for women to take the pill till there 35 apparently? Just seems pointless to me her taking it really when we both don't want anymore and its a lot easier for me to get the snip than her to get sterilised............
