Broken Nose - Worth Going to Dr's/Hospital **now with pic!**
As per title really!
Was walking home last night with hands in pockets as it was cold, slipped on some ice and properly face planted, and am pretty sure I've broken my nose
<---- real tears, I must have looked like a proper twat!!
Its fecking painfull and swollen and has a fairly massive gash which is still bleeding a little on the bridge.
Is it worth going to hospital or are they likely to just laugh at me and send me on my way? Is there even anything that can be done for broken nose?

not really too bent but hard to say as very swollen! Got pair of black eyes developing too!
Feeling pretty sorry for myself really, I was a bit pissed but not mullared. Gonna get cruicified at work tomorrow

Shouldnt still be bleeding, if its a gaping wound they will steristrip it closed. Dont think there is much to do but you might need an xray or at lease looked at to make sure its going to heal straight.

Had mine broken a few times but never been to docs for it. Wish I had, as they might have been able to fix it then apparently. I've now got quite a badly shaped nose, but worse is the limited breathing through it.

Think I might go hospital tomorrow after work just to get checked over - bit of peasce of mind really.

As above chez...really if its not out of shape dont bother mate as they will do nothing for you...but sounding by how the cut on your nose is bleeding id have that checked if it doesnt stop mate.

ive had mine broken a couple of times and just left it,

i ended up with breathing problems and couldnt really breath through my nose at all, it was very bad for sport and terrible at night
i used to have to breath through my mouth which would dry up and id end up with really dry through/mouth and really noisy breathin.
i went to the drs and they sent me to a specialist,
my septum (bone in the middle of the nose) had grown too much after the breaks, and it had partially blocked 1 side,
and in each nostril you have something that moistens the air as you breath in, and because my nostril had got larger in the side the septum was bent away from, the thing grew too big meanin that blocked the other side of my nose. lol
i had an op (septoplasty) to have the septum cut down, and i can now breath a lot better especially at night.
i would defo go to the drs and get it checked, you dont wan what i had cos its bloody horrible. lol

got mine broke few years ago(no ice involved, just somebody bigger than me lol)
went to hospital but got told nuffin they can do for it and sent away,
can still feel were it broke to this day, never did heal properly,
prob worth getting checked out just to be on the safe side anyhow

get it checked out fella mine went back ok but my nephews stops him breathing through it gives him all sorts of grief bad breath included [and he now snores like you wouldnt believe]

I broke mine moshing in 1990 and it was rough for a few months but no lasting damage.

I'd go to the doctors say you've hurt your head, they might shave it. 
Doesn't look that bad to be honest, I wouldn't be arsed to wait 15 hours in A & E for it.

just finding my feet
first time i broke my nose i was in hospital for 8 hours, got face xrayed and ,,,,,,, sent home after being confiirmed it was broken
next time i didnt bother and my nose was a little wonky near the bridge,,,,,, 2 years later i got into a row with a knob in a pub,,,, turned out he was a boxer but he seemed to flatten the nose and make it straight pmsl
oh and the first time my face swollen from my eye socket to my nose flush that i looked like a cabbage patch doll but i was kicked and knee'd about 20 times in the face as 2 lads tried to steal my mountain bike...... then i loaned it to a mate who got it nicked from outside a fucking shop pmsl

went to a&e tonight as swollen a lot more and pretty painful. Dr said it's broken and gave me bit of a bollocking for not going in on sat night/yest
Will be referred to a nose specialist via my gp in a week or so to see how its healed. I still feel like a proper plank
