I'm going from Swansea to Nottingham tommorrow as my boys got tickets to watch pendulum in the Trent arena.

I've done the journey a few times and I've got a 4x4 but I want to know if there are any major roads closed in the midlands direction as we've not seen a sniff of snow,you know,m42 etc as I can go towards London and head up the m1 if needs be?

I'd prefer him not to miss it as he's got an op week Monday and this is sort of a treat for him?

Any advice appreciated,well be leaving in the daytime leaving 7-8 hours for a 4 hr journey.

My missus brother lives in Nottingham so we can stay overnight if needs be.

The M42 is completely clear mate. Was on it about an hour ago and i drive Jct9 to M1 and back every night and morning. The main roads are fine and unless it chucks it down today/tonight you shouldn't have any probs at all.

Thanks matt,it's just started snowing by me ironically,only a bit but it's fooking cold so it's gonna stick!!that's great news about Nottingham,Ill check in the morning and I think well be ok!!!

Main roads are fine and city centre so just your end really. Rural areas are still very bad but that should not bother you.

Wrap up though mate as its freezing

Hello mate.
ive been up the m40 to the m42, all the way to the m1, then up to leeds.
No problems, it was actually quicker than usual as there was less traffic on the roads.
go for it.

Sinbad,that's great fella,my mrs is taking the boy in as well as he's only 15, although she's probably be more into it than him!!he was originally going with a mate so only 2 tickets I'm afraid so I'm stuck with the brother in law,how exciting!!!
