I noticed about two weeks ago my debit card was expiring at the end of the month (November) but I hadn't received a replacement card. Fearing it was lost in the post I rang them and said and the chap said it was normal for the card to arrive right at the end of the month and my existing card would work 14 days into December to allow for the change over etc so I wouldn't be without a card.

As of today I still haven't received a card so I called them and they told me my new card was posted on the 1st November so I should have received and registered my new card by now. As a result my old card has been blocked so I'm left without a debit card.

So I was furious and said I was ASSURED my old card would work 14 days into December etc etc and what am I supposed to do with no debit card to which he said well just go into a branch with your Passport and a bank statement and draw out cash. I played the whole I'm in a rural location and getting into town in this weather with the snow is impossible to draw cash out I need a card but they didn't care. Just kept saying I'll have a new card in 10-14 days.

Oh fucking great, loads of X mas shopping to do and I have no debit card. What a bunch of cunts. This is the second time EXACTLY the same thing has happened. I think it's time to change my bank.

 

Typical bank mate - aren't interested and don't give a fuck either.

 

+1,haven't had the best of experiences lately with barclays either.been with them 15 years and never had a problem until I actually needed a bit of grace from them,I asked if I could extend my overdraught by £500.

They point blank refused as I didn't meet their "lending criteria",cunts.

Once I'm back in work I'll take stock and consider another,although they all seem much of the same!!!!
