i know that the mk6's are easy to change but i cant imagine it worthwhile stripping it down.

whats up with yours?

Very worthwhile stripping it down


Just bit the bullet and whipped it out and took the plastics off.

Re-soldered a few likely looking dodgy solder joints.

refitted it all and now the blowers work again



The heater blowers weren't working (on any speed, which is important as if they only worked on speed 3 then it would've been the resistor pack on the blower itself!!)

Drivers window was working intermittently, but thats turned out to be a dodgy terminal in the switch plug.

common problem it seems, the solder joints get dry.
i good clean up and re solder the joints and it helps alot.

Great stuff,it's been a problem on these cars for years.worthwhile doing now for a number of reasons,can't think of anything worse than breaking down in these temperatures or having to stop a journey cos your wipers have failed or something like that.
