Can you buy them from the council?

We are looking to buy a house, and we have found the most perfect property but would need access from the rear to put a garage in the back garden. but there is en-bloc garages there. well in fact where i would need access the end three garages have been knocked down and are now just parking spaces, but they dont actually belong to the house, although the house owners now have used all three for the last six years with no problem... also there is a small path way about two feet from the parking spaces and the back fence!!

I dont recon it will mate,

1) quick cut of the grass, and as for those ferns, the guy said you only need to trim them once, maybe twice a year...

Mate it is, been stressing all day.. told the estate agents that we are interested with the provision we can get round the back... so just got to speak to the council on Monday

the current owner is a landscape gardener, it really is lush mate

Newington, near Gillingham Rich, although Gillingham is a bit of a dive, there are some really nice places in the surrounding areas, but i suppose you could say that about everywhere, see bbq response above as well bud^^^

 

Has the house just been extended? just a few little things need sorted, skirting boards in the living room and coving in the dining room. loving the SS sink worktop.

 

No mate there is no access to the front

just a pathway and a grass area, so that is a no go either

When we was looking for a house we found a place like that with garages at the back that would have been perfect.

But the council (Dunstable) would let me buy them due to the access rights to the other garages

Hope your situation will be different.

 

buy a garage and put a door on the back of it aswell, sorted.

 

Cant you just knock the fence through and wack a huge double garage on that patio?

The access i want the end three garages are no longer there, just the foundations that drop down every two.. so you never no

behind the fence is a foot path about two feet wide, then the garage's back on to that... but as said where i would like to gain access the end three are not there.

 

just found it on google maps. don't look a bad area that doug. pity you cant knock a coulpe of those garages down at the front and put a garage on the front patio.

you park your car in the cul de sac or in front of one of the garages.

Nice looking gaff mate, plenty of scope for a garage there! i just bought my first place earlier this year, three bed end terrace bungalow, with detached double garage and fair sized gardens. Mortgauge is a killer but the garage is ace! paid 125k for it just got to decorate the place now

 

why not just rent the garage and put a gate up and not tell anyone, its not gonna be YEARS till your cossie is done,,,,, by then you will be have bought a bungalow and retired so why not think of the garden for junior then let him worry about buying a house with a garage for his dads classic car he left him in his will,,,,,, though hes prob gonna still have to wait a bit for it to be finished too pmsl
