Default Anyone know about watches/ batteries

Want a new battery in my watch, it's not that expensive but not cheap either.

I went into a shop in town and the guy said has the back been off before? If I take it off it won't be waterproof anymore? Is that true? Or does it just mean it may possibly let in water if the factory seal is broken?

it may not be water tight if the seal gets damaged when the back is taken off but he should change the seal if there is any signs of damage. i change watch batteries and dont remember having a watch brought back to me after i have changed a battery that has misted up, it should be fine

As said should be perfectly fine so long as seal is not damaged, very easy job to take back off and change battery.
