Default welding a manifold in situ?

Hi my exhaust manifold has cracked typical greddy issue and want to weld it in situ as best as possible, apart form disconnecting the battery should i unplug the ecu?

Anything else i should consider?

i wouldnt recomend doing this if it can be avoided, in order to weld a manifold to any decent standard you need to be purging the manifold with gas whilst you are welding.

if its a cast manifold then you may get away with it, but i'd really want to do an internal inspection after welding just to be sure i hadnt left lots of debris to wreck the turbine blades

Don't think it is cast mate, it looks a painm the arse to get the manifold off as the external gate is against the rad so no room to move the manifold off the studs...think at minimum rad/intercooler out which i'd rather not do if possible.

Is there a chance it could damage the ecu even though the battery is disconnected?
