post some pics of your oil coolers fitted on a saph
Basically im nearing the end of my underside and engine bay resto and i would like to see some pics of how and where you've mounted your oil coolers, the car had one fitted but it was just hung in place so any pics and info would be appreciated.

Hard to see in the picture but is that cooler on your track car secured to the intercooler to stop it vibrating back and forward ? and fatiguing the alloy brackets over time.

Yes, welded on threaded bosses at the bottom and interference fit lugs at the top stop it moving about while still being able to undo it without taking the intercooler out ( as the front chassis member block the top area ) .

Are these oil coolers not too big?
I can understand Touring car spares as assume his is on a race car but most of the ones i see on road cars are too big.
I read Rod had to move his as to get oil up to higher temp, Marco's 450bhp 3dr has the oil cooler wrapped in tape most of the year and sure i saw a Escort down at Reyland once with a panel infront of oil cooler to make it run hotter.
I was thinking of just fitting a 13 row cooler and positioning it in a way that can get some air but not in direct air flow as you need oil to get to a certain temp so as to burn off condensation (or i may have mis-read things and be way off)

Why not just run a sandwich plate with a stat built in, that's what I do.
Of course pure physics say putting a hotter surface in front of a cooling surface that cooling surface will be absorbing some heat, just a matter of how much, and if you don't need all the cooling as most don't in this country then there's no problem.
