Default Daft Bas**rd

The guy at the garage where my Fiesta is located just now has informed my old boy that he doesnt think its worth fixing my car because "Even with a full years MOT its only worth £400" now my old boy thinks im a daft prick for paying £1300 for it and says he doesnt think hes going to lend me the money needed to fix it as its not worth it and also that my mate who sold me it isnt really a mate

Fair to say im raging and ive told my dad to tell the guy that I will be coming to get it taken away tonite or tomorrow as the guy obviously doesnt have a clue so I dont want him doing the work on it.

What a twat this guy is, Ive got a quote form webuyanycar saying that they would pay £1550 for it so this idiots theory is out the window. I was overjoyed with the deal I got on the fiesta, £1300 and it came with the standard wheels and tons of spare parts, and now this guy has just pissed me off because my old boy is going to listen to him instead of me and he thinks im a fucking twat

are there many for sale on autotrader, ebay, piston heads?

if there are, print off a few adds and show your old boy them as proof of value.

then when you go round to the garage to take it away show them, tell them they clearly are retarded and therefore are not geting the work. some people are just stupid. they clearly only see it as an old fiesta.

Sell it to WeBuyAnyCar, keep the spares and the quick £250 profit and buy another one for £400!

Its has no badges on it so im assuming he just thinks its a just a mk3, he even asked if it was a 1.6 or a 1.8 while we were standing with the bonnet open looking at the engine with the 1.8 injection sticker on it.

If that quote from WBAC is legit, then I'm away to buy as many MK3s as I can.. cause even if they are theiving cunts and knock 30-40% off the quoted price when you turn up then you're still onto a winner?!

Cheers,
Grant

What do people think an RS1800 is worth? I wouldn't say £1300 is over the top tbh

It's like saying a Saph coss is worth £300 because that's all a normal one is worth

To an enthusiast then yes it is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay. To a trader/webuyanycar etc, it's just a 15 year old fiesta.

Do you really think that WBAC are going to see a MK3 Fiesta at the same level (or higher..) as an enthusiast would though mate?!

To be honest, a ropey RS1800's value is probably closer to the £400 he said than the £1300 you paid for it. I do think you've had your pants pulled down, £1300 for one with no MOT. Fair enough if it was in good nick but I assume it's not if it needs lots of MOT work.

cant say fairer than that!

A tidy RS1800 will still do good money i'd have thought? Good fun wee cars - sounds like this is the ideal excuse to 2.0 it mate

To be honest, I'd love you to go down and see what you'd actually get... cause they're known to knock value down on anything they can, but jesus christ thats a far stronger initial offer than I thought you'd get for an RS1800.

Grant

I dont realistically think id get that from them, maybe from a private sale, but its just the fact he says its only worth 400 when I clearly know its more than that.

Not a chance buddy! I would guess WBAC would value it the same as any other mk3 Fiesta. the OP must be wrong somewhere. It was just the people who were saying it's only worth £400 I was refering to
