class of cannabis..
Just at work and were discussing what Class cannabis is, I said it went from being a class C to a B but He said in the nineties it used to be an A?
I didnt think so but was just wondering?

never been A iirc. they might have been talking about reclassifying skunk as class A at some point.

Class B at the moment, was upgraded from a Class C drug not too long since 
However, cautions and spot fines can still be dished out for first offence with Cannabis IIRC

Skunk may well of been a class A as it is essentially canabis soked in LSD (so I am led to beleive) - LSD is a Class A drug so having it in a mix with canabis takes that mix to Class A
Same question was brought up a few weeks ago when we went over drugs classification and offences/legislation

Since when? Skunk is just strong weed - but it seems to be used for any weed that smells strongly. It's the most overused term for cannabis and really doesn't mean anything, so there's no way it can be actively classified any differently to non-skunk cannabis.

Dan - He went through allsorts drugs related most of it went over my head as it was more along the lines of what the labs do and test for - The main bits I made notes on were the classifications of various drugs and some of the slang names and what sort of penalties they carry.
I wouldn't even know what half of the stuff looked like if it hit me in the face

LOL - He had a massive box with all fancy display of quite a lot of various substances.
The bizzare thing is, we arn't trained as experts in identification of controlled drugs so we cannot make an arrest specifically for posessing Heroin or Cocaine - We can only arrest on suspicion of posession a Class A/B/C controlled substance and then the evidence is sent off to be analysed.

Training to be a Special Constable at the moment as I don't want to quit my regular job to be a full time copper incase I don't actually like it, but if I do then I see it as a way in to full time - but normal work is train driver
