Quite amazing the quality considering most archive film of that era.

Moss suffering from usual British luck with an engine blowup while in the lead.

Also.. Health and Safety.....

Incredible quality footage! Seems amazing to see now, an F1 car flat out with the driver fully exposed and wearing a fashionable short sleeved short and something resembling a saucepan on his head!! The phrase Balls of Steel doesnt even come close!

Don't worry in 25 years time you will be looking back at 2010 and saying I can't believe they actually had drivers in the car.

Times change>>

In 1955 I couldn't have predicted that what I've just done by posting this reply would be possible, ignoring the fact I hadn't started school and probably couldn't write...

The era that i love remember the Lemans crash very well, that Mercedes was unbeatable back then. I had models of that car in my bedroom & a picture of Moss/Vanwall on the wall. Thanks for posting this takes me back to a more simple age without the do-gooders, tree huggers & health/ safety shit stirers. So glad i grew up in that era.
