Default Shipping a fairly large parcel from USA....

Anyone got any ideas how I can ship a parcel from the USA to UK cost effectively?

The parcel measures 160cm x 65cm x 65cm and weighs approximately 22kg.

Obviously none of the online companies like Parcel2go can help. Anyone got any ideas?

USPS do a Fixed rate box, its what i get just about everything in from the states these days and normaly inside a week
Each box covers upto a sertain weight so once you know what yours is get a box that covers it....simples
Oh and it goes without saying that you want the cn22 to be marked as a "Gift" and the value to be NO more than $50. "Used" also helps

where is what you want shipped, if its in one of the central states i might be able to get it and ship it for you, USPS as said is about the cheapest for smallish stuff,

if anyone wants anything shipped next April i got my pickup coming to the uk and i will be putting some stuff in it to ship back, it will be in a container so i should be able to bring extra stuff with it, hope i can, i want to bring 4 spare engines back .

Befriend a pilot and get them to take it in the hold for you. My mate shipped a jetski from the US to Ireland that way

Dont make the mistake of undervalueing it on the label. All well and good if it gets through ok but if its damaged thats all the insurance (if you have any) will pay out.
If its anything of value then declare its full worth..

Yes, I am well aware of that. LOL.

I've factored in duty and VAT, but the companies shipping quote of almost $400 is making it completely non-viable.

It's the length that causes the high cost on Air freight, try via shipping, although it may take 3 - 6 weeks, or there are a few companies that put goods into their own containers for others, still takes 3 - 6 weeks tho.

or try this guy he fills a container every month, (on MOCGB.net)

You pay for goods, send it to his container site in the USA, he has it put in, you collect this end when it arrives
