you aint got a uk box,,,, cant be arsed to change ANOTHER diff so thought,,, fuck it why not give building it a go,,,,, then i can spec it with a plated fron diff (if i find one cheep enough) and hope it lasts longer than 3 weeks

though last box died when i loaned it to a mate,,,, who is a fucking animal with driving and it currently pinned together after crashing his 430bhp fiesta ST,,,,, so thought if i just dont let him drive it again ill be fine pmsl

sorry but 2k for a second hand gearbox,,,, fuck fit and forget id rather have a box with a LSD at the front and ratios i know about

besides part of the car experience is the fun of messing about with them,, if i wanted fit and forget no hassle option i would sell my impreza and buy a later STI impreza with the box fitted as standard

Fair enough! But I know people who spent far more in the long run going for the "cheap option"!

mate if i have to spend 2k on a second hand box i would rather fit a 200 quid box, sell the car and buy a evo and start again if im honest

only reason why i dont have a evo is the money i have put into the car on getting it to handle better, the next box the car breaks then it gets sold as i HATE the image of the subaru and just enjoy driving it, 2k is half the selling price of the car , 6k plus another 2k gets me a nice evo

rebuilding a box will cost me around 500 quid,,,, my last box ( that i have stripped) had a blocked breather( silicon over spill) and whining bearing

last box was killed by a mate who powershifted it rather than the power of the car killed the gearbox
