I still think though for the tags to work they do need to be anonymous!!

 

Yeah there were some really genuinely funny ones on there and only a couple of saddo ones.

My favourite was "hot air will keep it up" on the basis that it was well grounded in physics principles in the first place because hot air does provide lift, but also reflected the fact I talk too much.

Genius and a real shame that cause of the insulting tags that we have to lose that sort of humour.

Often the "nasty" tags, it's more of a case of the truth hurting...

I think the ones that hurt are ones that others will percieve as true but arent, like many of the ones slagging helen off that were totally innaccurate but because people only had daves side of the story all thought were true and ganged up on her.
That sort of bullying has no place on a car forum, if people want to do that sort of thing they should join bebo or something

Seeing as a forum is only as good as it's members, why can't the members have a vote??

Mods can use their discretion to reveal the authors of highly offensive tags.. not that yours were IMO.

Some of the tags left on Daves thread were very insulting but unless the webtem receive a complaint about them we tend to leave them be... or we just havent seen them!!

Some of them used to make me really laugh so its shame they've gone!!

I fully believe that they should stay anonymous because a lot of the tag authors, and i dont mean the ones who left highly offensive tags, would probably not bother if they didnt believe the tag would stay anonymous.

 

so if they are not causing too much work for the mods why have they been removed.

If someone complains about a tag - the tag poster should be banned for a day or two or even a week.

Removing the tag option just seems an easy bail out and far too one sided

 

Well, we had anonymous tags for a while, what's the harm in trying visible ones? I'll miss 'em.

Some of the tags were brilliant, shame to see them gone but, hey ho.

Only thing that MASSIVELY pisses me off, is moving topics into the pictures and videos room if it contains a youtube link etc, if it is something completely unrelated to cars and is about 'general discussion'!

Im sure there will be an announcement/explanation at some stage as to why the tag facility has been removed, as of yet Ive not been told but i have asked the question in the mods/Admin room.

 

Its the only reason I renewed my Gold Membership, which I did only a few days ago, any Moderators looking at this thread... can I get a refund please? I don't have and won't have any cars/parts to sell for the next 18 months minimum, I can find porn on the net without Mens Room therefore it is of zero benefit to me now that tags have gone.

I expect to get the full list of privileges as I did when I paid my membership fee, now thats been taken away without any sort of democratic vote or opportunity for the members to have their say, I think I'm entitled to my money back, specially since I only did it the other day.

I think its the same as paying for a gym membership for the main ability to use the swimming pool, and then a week after you've joined, the company decide to take the swimming pool away from you for no good reason, its ridiculous...
