As far as I'm aware 'most' Indians are hindu, which is fuck all to do with halal meat (that's Muslim). The indian resturants near me are all run but Indians and are hindu, I believe.

I think this should not be allowed, if people want to eat halal meat then it should be imported, although this would remove the income from our country it would make a good statement that britain should be respected for its beliefs, parctices and attitude to animals. Ive worked in 3 different slaugterhouses in my time and the care taken to make it as easy as poss for the animal it actually pretty suprising. Ive not seen any vids of the halal method but going on the above comments i get the picture. Its upsetting to say the least.

As an analagy its similar to us going to the emirates and building a brewery, they would not stand for that, I just wish our government would for once say NO, we dont do things that way here old pal, do it our way or take a holiday etc etc

Thats just my view.

unles you were talking about indians in the context of indian resteraunts (where you would be right as hindu establishments are vegitarian and so wouldn't have meat of any kind, let alone halal ) i took it to mean indians as in people from india, in which case, there are about 1.4 billion hindu folks who you've just labeled as sikh

I think you'll find most people on here will disagree, most people want to know that the meat that they are eating was killed in the most humane way possible, if that wasn't the case there wouldn't be the reaction that this post is getting.

 

it's not cheaper, it's the same meat and if they have to go through all this hassel it's going to be more expensive than just your regular meat wouldn't you think?

the reason they do it is because, as far as schools are concerned, themore kids that have school meals the more the school gets towards the cost of doing them, so when you have a school like where my mrs works where 90% of the kids are muslim, labelling your meat "halal" means that you have potentially 90% of your school eating school meals as opposed to not putting it on the menu and losing potentially 90% of the money they'd generate
