Hey,
Right i'm looking for a track car. Something reliable and not too old. Got a £7-7.5k limit prefer fwd as I like it. Dont want something massively modified in the engine department as I tend to see track cars like that not go often.. I've been running a standard 1.3 endura in a ka for nearly 3 years and it will pound round all day and the engine will enver miss a beat.
Looking at:
Focus ST or Astra VXR at the minute as like the fwd and the fact they are both quick out the box and dont need a lot spent to make them a tad quicker. I don't want a rocket fast car just something that has a bit of poke
Advice welcome
Rich

Might just get a high mile/cat c or d mk1 focus rs for that money if you look around.....would make a really good track car out the box pretty much as they handle so well, and it's only a matter of exhaust/filter/remap to unleash some power too!! Otherwise as said, save a few quid to use on upgrades and buy a 172, again handle really well and an ideal little tracker

Im getting a clio200 for the road so don't want a 172 if I am honest. It is french too :P Getting mine as it has warranty
thanks for the offer but want to stick to a near-standard engine for reliability and simpleness.
Civic type R I havent considered but will look in to that! Thanks

Have to agree that if you're wanting fwd then the clio would be my choice....I'd go for a williams though
The top track car choice for me though would have to be a classic shape impreza on an L plate or there abouts.....
Get a standard one and there near bullet proof + the money you save on the purchase price you can slap on some decent breaks, exhaust and have it mapped properly....they'll make 260bhp relatively easily and safely
I know there 4wd but they handle good out the box and they're very light on their feet!

ive had both mk1 frs and focus st and for a track car the rs is much better and the st is more for the road.... another option is ive had 2 fiesta st's and had some great fun in them and with such a good tuning market for them its worth a look...
plus they can be had for under 5k lol giving you 2.5k+ to spend on some suspension and brakes or even a quaife atb and a 190bhp kit ..... the list is endless....
www.pumaspeed.co.uk
www.pumabuild.co.uk
www.mk2frs.co.uk
these are a few websites with parts for all the cars above have a look and see what you can afford....
