Default VW interior trim

Was cleaning a mates car today, with me lad, as it's going up for sale, a vw golf I couldn't believe the absolutely shocking shit plastic trim on the boot area running along the panel and the front panel below the scuttle panel area, I think I've seen thicker stronger crisps packets, trim was broken all over the place due to being seriously crap is this VW's legendary build quality at work, was a g reg btw, I was shocked tbh.
Mates just back from Iraq, and new born so strapped for time at the mo.

i found all mk2's are brittle inside.they have that black trim along the dash, thats usually missing, window winders break and they just seem a bit naff.not any worse than a s1 though.

I had a 10 plate VW Fox the other day as a courtesy car, the plastic round the ignition barrel was already scratched to buggery, the soft feel covering stuff on the inner door handle was peeling, ones of the bulbs behind the dash wasn't working, the coolant level was below minimum and the boot lid wouldn't shut unless you slammed it really, really, really fucking hard.

And this car had about 2500 miles on the clock!

what you usually find with s1's are the glovebox hinges are broken, the dash is cracked, the steering column cowling is broken,if the car is lowered the dash seems loose when going over bumps, the plastic things under the doorhandle break, the parcel shelf supports break.mk3 plastics seem to be made from different plastic to s2's.not every mk3 will be the same, but the used cars will show inside.most i have seen have had something broken inside.
