Default Need some help.

Hi All,

My old man is in a bit of a pickle so im asking everyone for a bit of help.

He has got a W reg Subaru Legacy thats just chewed its front diff up so he is currently using my Sierra Sapphire.

Trouble is even though the Sierra is a good reliable car its not an estate, he needs an estate because he is a self employed gardener / grounds man.

Has anyone got an Estate that they would do a swap for my Sierra Sapphire ( a Sierra Estate would be belting because I have always wanted one but beggars cant be choosers).

A straight swap would be ideal because money is very tight due to a personal reason (that I dont want to discuss on an open forum, no offence).

If anyone has a Subaru Legacy gearbox going cheap that would also be very helpfull
Any offers or ideas would be of great help.

Thanks in advance,

Lee

I think DJMillsy meant he bought one for 200 quid, found this Sierra estate - cheap atm... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1990-FORD-SIER...item255dec1a1c

Plenty of Escort and Mondeo estates to choose from though.

I was looking to swap my Sapphire 2000E "G" reg, 98k on the clock, with Tax until Feb 2011 and MOT until May 2011, standard apart from a badly painted cossie front bumper.

I went to my Dads yesterday and he told me my Nan has offered to lend him the money for a car so its looking like its all getting sorted now.

Thanks for the help everyone who replied.

If your after a cheapy estate mate then you won't go far wrong with a mk3 astra estate,1.4 8valve petrol are the ones to go for with power steering, great load space and 100% reliable,i can't see one being more than about £200 with t&t?

Or alternatively is it the same box as an impreza as I know for a good one.

I dunno what type of box is in it, my old man said there are about 4 different types for the Legacy depending on year of manufacture and engine, can anyone else help on this?

Cheers for the heads up about the Astra Estate, I have advised him what cars get a good report but now that my Nan has offered him the cash for a new car I dunno what he is going to do.

Wouldn't surprise me!!!if he can get the box code etc then let me know as I've driven the car and it was a1,only broke it cos the guy crashed it pissed hence no payout and a 2year ban, can't see him insuring a scooby again!!!!
