Its a Data sim so it probably wont be able to make a call, but you can use it to send sms messages, its similar to a mobile modem system for laptops, they basically use mobile phone technology to send and receive data, in this case, probably to send a transponder signal to triangulate its position and then sends that data out...

Damn freaky though, I like the idea of sending it round the country, but do something really daft, like tie it to a cow's bell or something, or a goat!!

There are no pics on the sim of the alleged P I, the pics are of a female who owned the phone that was left in my taxi & never claimed cha ching

Iwas able to make calls with it, hence i was calling premium numbers, turned it on yesterday & received another text ref tracker signal, think they where checking it might be working.

Do love the idea of strapping it to something, but its worth a few quid and could be handy.

Spoken with a friend in CID and fairly sure its insurance based, as I'm not a criminal, apart from being a robbing taxi driver

say it dropped of your taxi and it your friend on the head, rebounded and smacked you in the face, which in turn made you fall over and agreevate your whiplash injury. making you have at least 6 months of work, boost that claim right up,. find out who fitted the device and claim compo off them aswell. sorted!

Mate one thing I would say is just make sure there's some way of proving where you have been at certain times over the next few days if you do put it on a truck, just in case it is related to the whiplash and they think you've done some major long distance driving if it goes onto a truck!

this was done to me when i worked for a big orange and black delivery firm,it was the same as that one,sim card the lot,

they hid it under the step and i could here it banging about so i had a look for it and it took all of 5 mins to find,so i got some of the other people to look in there vans but none were found ,so i took it out and hid it in the false roof in the bogs it was there for weeks and no one ever asked me about it,well they could'nt realy as i ""never knew it was there""

what they do is ring a number that connects them to the tracker and they can see where u are,but they dont need do it realy as it can all be done via YOUR OWN mobile now,they can look to see where it is,ok so u could leave it at home but if u dont know they are doing it u have no need to..........
