Default tyre size help

Just a quick question please Sarahs vectra needs 2 front tyres now my mate has got 2 mint conti's
In 215 45 17 but the tyres that are on at mo are 215 50 17.

Will it be ok to have the smaller profile on front? I've said it will be fine but you know what women are like
she's a bit weary lol
