my brothers getting married but
it's in 2 weeks
in new zealand
and no ones going from over here
because it's too far
it's only a court marriage type thing so no fancy bells and whistles and shit like that, so he can't really see the point of spending thousands and thousands on a trip to go there and play happy familes
should i have gone?
should my folks have gone?

In my mind if its he first time he's getting married then atleast his immediate family should be there. Ie you and your parents and any other siblings you may have. I know it won't be cheap but if it was me then I would want to be there and he will definitely want his family their no matter what he said.
Hope I've been some help.

Surprise him!
He'll be in bed the morning of his wedding thinking "I'm so glad I moved all this way from my family, they manage to blow getting out of bed into a massive drama or argument with someone just trying to do a job. Thank god they're not here."
If you do go, expect an argument with the person you buy the tickets from, your wife to disagree with any decisions you make, expect the ground crew to be rude and curt and not appreciate your "intelligent" arguments, expect the air crew not to treat you as the only passenger etc. etc. Just basically expect lots of arguments with people who don't get paid enough to put up with you.
And for those of us left behind, expect posts about all the above.
Love you x

between the 6 of us it's going to cost more than Ł10k to get there and back, plus i don't want to get into an arguement about taking kids out of school during term time and the mrs can't get a day out during term time and i've only got 4 days left for my holidays so we are going to send my old dear out there to annoy him and her

Some registry office in Wellington apparently, and we'll have to find accomodatjon as well (it's not an Indian wedding so we do t get to stay at everyones houses in nice warm comfy beds and get pissed and rowdy and stuff with no worries a out hebcost as the brides parents fund everything on the wedding day and the grooms side take care of everything else ).
I've made up my mind to send the old dear, it's the o ly reasonable outcome.

Wellington is an awesome place - fucking windy and icy cold sometimes - but should almost be awesome this time of the year.
Really is a stunning place to see - some people on oriental bay need cable cars to get to there home....
Visit the brewery down on the bay.

We are going to wait till they have kids, then we will all go over and stay with them on the pretence of looking at the new baby but really going around to gossip like women do and give her things to do like make cups of tea while the baby gets passed fromperson to person
And we'll obviously co plain that it's too hot and it took too long to get there and stuff but at least we will have had several months notice in which to save up and book holidays, so if he's Reading, make sure she's not going to drop the sprig during term time
