i'm puting a 30k st170 lump with bike throttle boddies in to my focus and the engine has been under a bench for a year with the oil drained and the oil filter removed

So when the engine is installed and topped up with oil etc do i just spin it over with the plugs out and wait for the oil light to go out? and should i top up the oil filter with oil before fitting it?

also this engine has a oil cooler and and my 1.8 didnt have one and by the looks of the shape of the water pipes one goes in to the back of the thurmastat and the other to the inlet of the heater matrix?

and any idea if the st170 crank sensor will work with normal 2.0 flywheel?
the one from the old engine has done 160k and would prefer to keep the 30k sensor

any advice is greatly apreciated cheers

engine should be fine ive had plenty of engines from the scrappy,just plumbed them in top up with oil and started,but yea not a bad idea just crank it over a few times get the oil round the engine
