Do i need a optical cable for my PS3? I have one optical cable from my amp (for surround sound) to the tv but i noticed yesturday that my PS3 has a optical out put as well, so do i need one from the PS3 as well will it make any difference? When i play my PS3 the sound come out through the surround sound already

does your AV receiver have HDMI? If so, use a HDMI lead.... sounds awesome

If not, how are you getting surround sound at the moment without using an optical cable?

regardless of the above, an optical for sound would be good

I have a HDMI from amp to tv and a HDMI from PS3 to the TV

Only need HDMI for the PS3 or a DVD/BluRay player.

Sky needs the optical because the HDMI connection only supports 2-channel PCM.
