im going to have a good poke about soon to try and get to the bottom of battery drain, alot of peeps say the rac trackers can be bad on the battery plus if your cat 1 alarms got back up battery's and if they dont work it constantly takes the power from ya battery

Mmm, Wish i had light in the garage where mine is kept, can't stop the battery draining after about a month with the alarm on
Can't think of a way to keep it topped up either as no power there, can't disconnect the battery for obvious reasons

Stop wasting your money with the solar chargers, price wise you'd be better off just buying another battery and keep in passenger footwell connected into the system.
I have RAC trackstar, as well as cat 1, and have left it 4 weeks, starts on the button, can hear it's slower but still starts ok.
For cars that are left long periods you are MUCH better off with a AGM "gel" type battery, these lose less than 5% of the loss that naturally occurs in the std lead acid, calcium or calcium-calcium batteries, and off much more performance as well, and outlast a std lead acid by a long way normally in use.
I have a 72ah Varta Blue dynamic, biggest that would fit on the sierra battery tray.
