its because he was probably a scum bag running from the cops (and hence police video) and most of the time the scum cunts get away with it!!
Just look at the number of times joyriders and TWOCers have massive impacts following police chases and dont have a scratch and still run off

I spotted it on the news last night too, it said the car spit up into 3 pieces

Extrememly rare incidents like that are the reason they are changing the ends of the barriers in the U.K (and maybe elsewhere) to hard stop ends (black and yellow striped) and not ramps.

you know ive been thinking about all of these car crashes that have happened lately and it just brings it home to me

If he'd been driving a better car, ie a Z06 or similar, he'd could have gone faster and cleared that. would definately have gotten an 'insane jump' bonus and a big medal saying winner.
unfortunately, he was driving a firebird, which is why all he gets is a policeman standing at the end of his hospital bed. hopefully someone will tattoo fail on his forehead.
