Default Tyre pressures?

Right, bit of a silly one just want to know who runs what, ive had a mk3, mk4 and mk5 escort and always ran 28-30 psi in the fronts and 22-26 psi in the rears, always thought it best to keep the rears a little soft as there is never usually anyone in the back and the cars are quite light. ive now got a 2wd saff and im wondering if i should be looking at something similar? who runs what pressures and why, thanks in advance.

Depends on tyres and usage, also a bit of a personal thing IMO.

On a road car on road tyres, i just run between 28-32 all round.

On my track car, i have ran as low as 20 front and 22 rears. Normally do 22psi front and 24psi rear, cold.

cool, ive found fiestas and escorts to be a little tail happy with too much in the back but that was probably with budjet tyres lol, normally a 195 50 15 tyre or 205 50 15, and toyo proxes. once spun my xr2i in the wet with 30 psi in the rears, but at the time i was living in the middle of nowhere! twisty roads everywhere.

Tyre choice makes a world of difference to any car.

I spun mine years ago in the wet. I went to wheelbase the following morning and had a fresh set of Yoko's fitted. I was running on some ropey old rubber.

i run 30 all round in the cossie, but, as a tyre fitter, definatly the most common tyre pressure is 32psi, so if you dont know your exact pressure for your car, thats always a pretty good bet.
