When I first moved to this house in Somerset, previous owner had installed a Microstar Boiler (French, fan assisted condencing type)......

Absolute pile of SH*T.......nothing but trouble, I kicked it accross the garden till my toes hurt

Got a Bosch/Worcester 24CDi installed - as Gus's boss says - the Rolls Royce of boilers, superb.....so well put together and designed

does it have to be a combi?

alot of people are led to beleive these are the way forward when really their only ideal when space is a major factor. i.e flats!
for the price of some of the combis mentioned you can get a half decent conventional boiler and an unvented hw cylinder

which does give you a good flow rate and pressure shower

That system will cost more to install, cost more to run and take up more space all so you need a good flow rate on your water main, 25mm pipe mim and a good standing pressure / working pressure to get the most out of it, but as for the system it is the best and is what i have.

vaillant ecomax system boiler and 170 L unvented clyinder.
