Default High Build primer over Acid Etch?

Hello,

I'm at the stage now where I am rubbing back all of the tatty bit's on the underside of my Cossie before paint.

On the spare wheel bowl (under car) after I rubbed it back, it has slight pitting on the metal.

Am I right in thinking - Acid etch then High Build primer over the pitted areas then rub back?

It's just, I was told from the paint supllier to put body colour onto acid ecth after around 4-6 hours whilst it was still tacky and before it cures?

Probably because etch is hygroscopic so will start to absorb moisture from the atmosphere if left exposed. There's no reason why you cant overpaint with a high build primer though. Best thing is to get the data sheets for all the paint you're using so you know exactly what you're doing.

I have used high build on top of etch primer when I've been refurbishing scabby alloy wheels and never had a problem!
